I have experienced the same thing Nate. Bend the wire thing that is a spring for the arm with the wheel on it so that it puts more tension on the wheel. That holds the float arm up long enough for the releaser to dump properly. Make sure that the pivot for the float arm is clean but don't lubricate it. Remove and clean the bolt that the float arm pivots so that it doesn't stick.

For the problem with the plastic piece getting pushed up with the plate there isn't much you can do. That is what happens when the float gets frozen into the bottom of the releaser then breaks free.

Friend has a single and his is freezing and sucking sap into his pump past the moisture trap. Float would help BUT he is a Farmer and has his ways. What gives with them I have the diubles and they havent given me a lick of trouble. I do wait till they freeze up then tur off vacumm and then cycle them by the float lever. Its turning into a great year. Pulling 26 on the Masport and Gast dry vane all is well. The Auto draw is saving my butt left and right:)
