dark syrup

just converted our 18"x60" rig with raised flues from oil to wood ,getting 15-20gph. with the oil fired we would make some light but mostly medium, now with the wood all is dark ,any ideas why

From the sounds of it, most operations are making darker than usual syrup this year.

I use oil and I only made a few gallons of light this year its been mostly amber just a funnny year I quess
