filter aide with gravity

dos anyone use filter aide while straining threw gravity cone or flat filters??ive thought about it but seems it would only slow the progress down even more???

I did it last night after seeing other posts on here.......the results were incredible! I mixxed 3/4 of a cup with about 3.5 gallons of syrup. I then put it into a water jacketed bottler which had three flat prefilters and a flat orlon filter. The first prefilter plugged up within 1 gallon, then the syrup went though the remaining filters in less than 5 minutes. My bottler is set at 190 degrees. The syrup is crystal clear, on par if not better than using a press. I do pull my syrup off the evaporator when it begins to float the hydrometer, then thru a prefilter and into a finishing pan. I had alot of niter build up in the pans so I was worried about the syrup, but my first batch came out great.

same for me, about 1 cup to 6 gals,4 pre filters and 1 final syrup comes out crystal clear
