As you can see our season was long and varied. I have never seen a season with so many variations in grade. We began the season with the sap coming in at 1.5 and a high of 2.5 about a third of the way through the season. The sap then leveled off to an average of 2.0. This the best season we have had on vacuum, with about 400 taps. We made 152 gallons of syrup this year. You will notice that the color of the first run and the last run are about the same!
wow, excellent to hear of your success!

Yep, we are done, at 65 I don't sugar as hard as I once did. A lot of my taps have dried and I have to move some syrup this weekend. We made 152gal. and I will leave the rest for the buds.

Buds yes... though mostly birds and squirrels here. Them holes leak for awhile before sealing for me. I would feel bad pulling spiles before I see grade B .. then again you got me by over 30 years. I'm just a grasshopper :)

Wow Woodburner! That's awesome, wish I had your knowledge. Boiled 500 Gallons yesterday at 1.5%. My taps here have seemed to shut themselves off now.
