Hey everyone,
This is my first time joining a group like this so please have patience... We just installed a CLT or CLR (??) Hobby 120 Reverse Osmosis and we have had a difficult time claening it at the end of the day. The cylce is taking over 5 hours to get the temp of the water at 84 degrees, where it needs to be to shut off. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to speed this process along? We have tried warming the water first and that dropped it to a three hour process but this seems a little inefficent. Any suggesstions would help!
Thanks-

Welcome to mapletrader, you'll find it a helpful and patient place.

If it's a new RO, I hope you got a decent user manual with it. I have a lapierre 250 RO and the wash solution is supposed to be 90 degrees to start, then run the wash cycle. It shuts off at 113 deg. This takes about 3.5 hours. The whole point is to adequately wash the membrane, which takes time. If your wash is taking 3 to 5 hours I'd consider that normal, don't rush it. Consult your manual again to see if it quotes specific temperatures. If it does, be sure your wash permeate is at the starting temp, this will make the wash cycle be the intended length. Good luck.

I start my long rinse with cool filtrate (RO Water) that I sepate at the start of the RO process into its 13-15 gallon wash tank.

It runs about 4-6 hours that way (depending on how cold it is). I like the longer rinse time to flush the membranes out beter. I've been keeping a pretty consistant flow rate over 2 seasons now.

All membranes are different though so you need to follow your manufacturers directions or risk damage to the membranes.

If you insist on heating it do you use a finishing pan to heat it?
