How long to get that 30 gallons? We put 50 taps in on Saturday south of Catawba and since we live near Point, it's killing me not knowing how things are running this week with the nice weather. Hopefully things pick up soon!

Don't get to excited. 500 taps since Thursday, and maybe 100 gallons on Tuesday:(. Thats in Edgar. Very slow, need more snow to melt. That should get them going.

Yeah, we have plenty of snow but I think a little less than others. Time will tell! Thanks for the update though.

I've been getting about 25 gal per day on 70+ taps that I have in a red maple stand. It's also on the north side and there is lots of snow. My sugar maples give me the same amount but I only have 36 taps in that stand. It's on the north side but it gets morning sun. Things are starting to pick up today and should continue.

Yesterday went back to our Lincoln county bush for the first time since Saturday, Tapped in our Price county bush Sunday thru Tues. Was hopeing that the bags and totes would of looked alot better then they did. Alot of the bags only had a couple inches in, some were flappin in the breeze. (mostly soft maples). Sounds like most people seeing the same thing.

Slow is the word, need some sunshine to get the trees warmed up, and knock down the snow.

Fired up the evaporator last night for the first time this year!!! Everything went good except trying to get ATV's back to one of our sugarbush's to gather sap out of buckets. There was no way we were getting back in the woods and coming out with 55 gallons. We are going to try it today but otherwise we have been banking on our 400 taps on lines on the North facing hillside. We have got about 550 gallons on the the 400 taps since Saturday. Our buckets I am guessing are all over flowing. We checked them on Tuesday and had to empty full buckets into not-so-full ones so we wouldn't loose sap. Still trying to figure out how to get the sap out. We are thinking about getting chains for our Polaris Ranger...Do you think it will make a big difference?
