passing sugar????

Is the more than one reason that you would get sugar content in the permeate water or are the membranes needing to be replced thanks

There are at least 2 I can think of.

1- there is damage to an O ring or cup seal
2- running too high pressure for the membrane. Some membranes are known to pass sugar at high pressure/ high concentration.
