Does anyone have a good idea for a very basic float system.
I boil on a concrete arch and have a 2 X 4 pan with a 55 gallon storage drum that gravity feeds via a ball valve. The down side is the ball valve needs to be continually adjusted.
A float assmbly idea would free up some much needed time.
BUt, I need a simple, easy to implement solution......no welding etc

Toilet bowl float is one of the simplest float systems there are. Maybe that will give you some idears on how you can work it. Keith

Was just going to say toilet bowl float too. Get an all brass unit with the brass float so all will be more heat resistent. Get a new one(:D) at Menards or such, pretty cheap and easy to adjust, just carefully bend the float arm to change pan sap depth.
Ours "hooks" over the side of the sap pan and is rigged up with a hose connection to hook up to the bulk tank feeding it. Has workrd well for a couple of years now.
