Hydrometer

I have a 9" hydrometer new that was given to me what size hydrometer cup do I need the 10" or 12" ?

I know you do NOT want the 12" cup. If the syrup is not yet dense enough to float the hydrometer, you will have trouble getting the hydrometer out of the cup at the top will be 3" below the rim of the cup.

I believe my hydrometer is roughly the same length as the cup.

Brain, the short cup will work fine. The tall cup is for the long hydrometer.
