Well our first boil was last sunday the 6th with just enough to sweeten the pans. This weekend I boiled for about 12 hours making 22+ gallons(haven't bottled it up all for a total)all mostly ligh to a light medium. Great flavor and almost $400 in sales already in just 2 days. Folks really miss it and were lined up waiting for me to bottle it up.
I have made up my mind though...back to oil next year! No more mess and 8 minute firings for me...more boil control and time to chat and bottle....auto drawoff has been a savior also the past few years.

Wood is a mess but my oldest just turned 14 and loves to fire so I'm good with that.
We've made 11 gallons so far and it's been a trying season to say the least.
Take care and good luck!!!

I'm thinking waste oil could be the way to go. I can see how oil is alot less work than wood.

Jim, would like to swing by and see your operation. I am a few miles up Route 9 in Ware.
