I have been tapping the same sugar bush for the past ten years and have usually run 60:1. It is not great but very close to home. However, this year I have made 7 gallons off 60 buckets of light and medium grade syrup with a 50:1 ratio. Anyone else noticing sweeter sap. Today also marked the invasion of the sugar moths! They usually show up a week before it shuts down, hoping to get sap through next weekend.

I've been running 2.4% during the main part and now down to 1.8%. Very good content for the season here.

Earlier in the season we were bringing in almost 3% sap but now it's closer to 1.2%. Sryup is getting real dark real fast!

i have been averaging 1.8-2.2%, and i am making really dark syrup right now, it changed quick, but the dark is what i sell the most of so bring it on.......
