None of the Dow instructions tell us in the maple game what to do. The lower the pressure the less fouling you'll get, but also lower throughput.
From reading a lot of other comments I think I'll try about 225 and go from there.
The specs from DOW say max operating pressure is 600 psi, but that is for water (generally salt water) that has no sugars and relatively few live things in it.

I'm running mine 350-375, but don't see why I couldn't go higher or lower.

Brian, on your size machine I assume you're running an 8" XLE-440? That's what I have. Glad to see you go so high pressure with no problems! I've been starting mine at 200# and recircing for several hours.

Sap man, Yes it it is a 8" xle 440. I have a Mark 1 in the first tower and the xle in the second. I am single passing to 11% at 1020gph with no problems. While I was at Lapierre in Swanton last week I asked them the pressure question, and the washing question. Lars told me 300 - 500 psi. He said that he finds that once producers are comfortable with operating them they end up pushing them to the 500 psi range. As far as washing them he said they are then same as the Mark 1. PH of 11 and 115 degree ish for top temp.
