Found a mouse floating in one of my buckets in the woods. Just wondering if I should wring the sap out of it before tossing it?;)

All buckets should be equipped wth little ladders or escape ropes for any innocent creatures who venture in! That poor mouse was just looking in to see what was there and fell, then no way out!! How about some sympathy for the mouse!!!!!! Must be your bucket wasn't that full or it could have gotten out!

I had a mouse in one of mine this year. Dumped it on the ground and stepped on him as he was still wiggling. Toward the end of the season i had left a transfer bucket in the sugar house after a late night boil. Went out the next day and there was a very sticky mouse. His whiskers were about 1/16" thick and had very matted hair. He went into my outside wood stove. The last day i was gathering i had a BAT. I took the lid off and startled myself. I let him go as they are beneficial for insect control.
