Are any modifications to the pump head required when creating a flood-type setup for a typical pump (delaval 73)?

I was toying with creating a flood-type system to run higher hg without overheating the pump.

I dont think so,,as I recall it involved a large oil catcher on the outlet end of the pump,,,this was plumbed into a filter and a radiator (dont remember in what order they were in),,,cant seem to find the pictures,,ill keep looking,,the one I saw looked easy enough to do,,,just time and parts,,,it was a surge 76......
