I ran into a guy that will build a set of raised or drop flu stainless pans for a great price. He told me that the pans are silver soldered. Can anyone explain the pro's and cons of each. This is for a 2x6 setup front and back for $900.00. This does not include any floats or float box. He says that they use a ball-valve system. Your thoughts are welcomed. Thanks

Really as long as there is sap to cool the pan the weld will never melt. silver solder melts at like >600 degrees. I like the idea of some tack welds for stength though, then silver solder.
