OK, so I've boiled 3 times so far this week, but I have no notes nor can I remember how deep I was running in the flue pan last year. I am about 1" over the top of the fill tubes at present.
It's a Leader Patriot 2X6 with raised flues. Been going up and down with the depth all week and still think I can do better with the boil rate.
Any one using one, or have any suggestions? Thanks

I have a lapierre rasied flue and sitting there static The sap level is about 1" bove the flues. Now when it is at a full boil the level drops alittle to about 5/8-3/4".
Haven't had and issue running it like that.
I have a waterloo, and measured mine today when the water line reached the mark on the tube, and the level was 1/2" above the flue.So when it's wide open,I'd think it was closer to 3/8".The mark was on it when I bought it 5 yrs ago. It's an 85 yr so I think it's been boiling at that level for awhile with no problems. It came from a tech school in N.H.originally.

Thanks guys, that 's helpful.
I'm thinking I can lower it down about an inch.
Getting a good rolling boil now, but a 1" decrease in that pan is a lot of water I'm not trying to heat.
I'll try that tommorow.

when I had a raised flu 2x6 I ran just an inch over the flues.
