Hi i have some trees on gravity and some on buckets but i was wondering if i should put tubes from a single tree into a bucket or put the taps on my gravity set up

Great question. I look forward to hearing others thoughts on this as it raises a whole host of issues.

The question is hard to follow so here goes. Having a tap with a tube into a bucket is better in MY opinion because it keeps the tap hole protected. I also believe if you get 4-5 trees all on the same tubing with a slight slope you can get natral vacuum slight as it might be its still vacuum. Having one collection point is better than 5. Having a tubing system that is run into a coverd bucket will help keep everything cleaner.

personally, if they are close enough and the grade agrees..I'd tee them right inti the gravity lines..less to collect and more natural vacuum created..:D

First how many trees you talking about? That should be the first thing. Second do you have the slope for the gravity lines to reach a central point?
Generaly, I would vote set up to the gravity lines and eliminate the buckets.
Less manual labor then IMHO.
Even with lids buckets get more critters in them, then a closed collection container with gravity lines.

i already have about twenty on gravity but the sap seems to come out very slowly even at the end the line were the taps are quite steep
