In all the years I've done this, I have never done this before.

While collecting this morning I stepped on a branch and the other end of the branch popped up and threw a baseball sized glob of mud into my nearly full bucket of sap

I ran it through my orlon sap filter, and it helped quite a bit with the obvious solids, but the sap still has quite the cloudy look to it.

Should I keep filtering it, or let it settle out (I don't plan on boiling until tomorrow anyway) and carefully scoop the clear stuff out? Will it settle out?

Hate to throw it out, everything I collected this morning was averaging 2 1/4% to 2 3/4%.

More worried about not being able to get the cloudiness out as it becomes more concentrated.

Mud/dirt is all organic and has very little soulables in it. It will all filter out in the end. If you saw what was rolling around in a 3X10 evap flue pan during the season you would .................well think its dirty had mud thrown into it.
