Ive searched the archives, and cant find the answer I need. grew up milking cows. I asked dad if he still had any vacuum pumps. he said yes. I went and looked at them. There is an sp11 and an sp22.

I want to put as much vacuum as I can get on 800 taps. WIll the sp22 be enough to increase sap production? ANy idea on the CFM is will produce?

I do not know cfm, but I run an sp22 on about 900 taps and maintain about 22 inches. Last year I made just under .5 gallons/tap.

the sp22 according to the Surge chart is rated at between 20 and 22 cfm depending on the motor you put on it. SP11 is rated at 9 or 10 cfm depending on the motor. Don't know how these are rated, i.e free flow, etc. Just stated what is listed on the chart. I think Parker has an sp22 on 800 taps on Rt. 11.

I have an SP22 on 650 taps and know that I can add more and it will handle it. I maintain vacuum levels in the 22" range and it doesn't overheat.

Hi Eric, where is this chart? is it on line anywhere? OR is it something you just happen to have? was curious if they have a bb2 on that chart?? If I am not mistaken its the older models were the bb's right? or is the bb2 equivelent to the sp11??? and the bb4 equal to the sp 22, I am not sure... I have looked around online but haven't found anything.

Here's the chart. I'm sure that the cfm ratings are "free air" ratings. I'm running an SP22 on about 700 taps, running 18 to 22" depending on leak patrol. Goodluck.

Update: I've been informed that the chart below is a New Zealand chart. Divide the CFM ratings shown in half to get the "US" rating that we're all accustomed to.
