Hello,

This is my first time here. I'm a hobbiest, we have about 75 taps and this is our third season. I'd like to ship some of this year's harvest from Massachusetts to friends (one in Arizona, and some co-workers in Saint Petersburg, Russia).

I wonder what experience people have with shipping syrup. Should it be packed in dry ice or some other material to keep it cold? Does anyone understand regulations with shipping food products overseas?

Thanks a bunch.

Tony

I have mailed some syrup. I have shipped two half gallon plastic jugs at time in Flat Rate Priority Mail boxes, carefully padded so they can't move around, and enclosed in heavy duty plastic bags. I'd be more comfortable mailing, say, two quarts in a flat rate box, because there would be more room for padding, especially around the caps.

No need for dry ice if it's been canned hot (around 185 deg.) I don't know about the overseas restrictions for mailing.
