My question has to do with the loop you make between the saddle and the wire we use leaders hook connectors for this. But even with vac these loops are full of sap is this right? It just seems like if its full then the vac wont make it to the trees or does just having vac pulling on that column of liquid pull on the tree? I don't know if this is common or do I have to change things around?

You're fine, that's they way they are supposed to be when there aren't any leaks. Something that is very helpful and interesting to do is get an extra vacuum gauge and adapt it so you can push whatever spile or stubby you're using onto it, then start going through the woods pulling the last tap in a lateral, connecting the gauge and comparing the vac level there to what it is at the releaser. You can learn alot about whats going on in your woods that way, areas that are working well and areas that aren't.

That loop at the manifold will be full of sap. The column of liquid provides vacuum to the tree. If you have a tight system the 5/16" line will be full of sap moving at a slow walking pace - the only time it's not is if you have a leak.
