The snow is really deep and with a lot of digging we got the taps and buckets on the trees a week ago, and yesterday, finally, some signs of action. Looks like the weather may warm up this week. We are ready!

Mapleridge Im just 15 or so miles from you in Corinth and I tapped the bush with vacuum on the 23rd and they are still froze. One of my seasonal lines at my parents is on gravity and they were all wet when drilling and ran about 10 gallons out of 25 taps. I was hoping for a little warm up this weekend so I could fire up the vacuum but it looks to be stormy once again. somtimes I wish I still had the half pint because 10 gallons wont do much in the 2x8. Good luck maybe the weather will change.

yeah I guess that is why I am starting with a 2x4 cause I have no idea what my sugarbush is gonna produce. max of 100 taps, some reds and no trees what I would call mature.

It dripped Sat and with a low of 35* it stopped on Sun. We collected 30 gallons. Since then it has been cold, it's now 11*, and we had 6"-7" more of snow. BUT, it does look like the weather is to warm up starting today. Will clean off the buckets today and hope for a good week.

We keep a temp/production journal, and this weather is normal. We have never had a good run before March 7 or 8, and every year we are impatient to get started.

Now, let's get the snow to melt so we can collect, have some perfect weather, and run, run, run!

After a cold Sunday am it warmed up nice and the sap really ran. We collected almost 100 gallons last evening. Now Monday, it's snowing crazy again, 33* and may warm to 38*. Rest of week lows will be cold enough, high might not be warm enough.... The weather is not helping.. Will get to boil today, and hope for more sap later this week.
