I put in my first 120 taps today. I'll get the rest in tomorrow. We'll see if the sap runs over the next few days.

I must be in need of glasses, I thought you tapped in the summer also. :o That would have been scary........ I once new a guy that left his taps in for the next season and couldn't figure out why no sap was running. LOL

I figure an early start is the key to a lot of sap!

Not that i have them, but with the new check valves i should be able to start tapping in the summer, right?

@ MainelyMaple - I live at the end of Bradeen Rd if you want to Google it.

All 585 or so taps are in. Of course my 3 days of highs in the upper 30's are turning into 3 days around 30. Looks like i'll have to wait until the weekend for a run.

High was 36 today with off and on drizzle. The lines thawed, but i only pulled a few gallons of sap out with the pump. Maybe tomorrow...

Woke up this morning and the temp was 42. Hustled down to the sap house to find 75 gallons in the tank and a steady stream coming in. Now that i've got the pump running it looks like the sap is coming in at about 35 gph. I'll be boiling this afternoon! I hope the sap is running elsewhere, too!
