With the help of my wife and daughter we got line strung out and tapped 46 this morning. Went easy enough going to try another 50 to go with 100 buckets. The more sap I can sell this year the better.

small run on saturday, gathered buckets on sunday got 12 gallons of sap from 169 taps. Not enough to make it worth trucking somewhere to sell. My daughter boiled it down on a turkey fryer, maybe 1.5 pints of dark syrup.

Went up yesterday to collect the buckets, half of my wood roads are still buried in snow, but has melted enough so I can plow with tractor now. Had a high wind on thurs night and snow fri morning. I had a bunch of buckets with blown off covers so I dumped the sap. Ended up with about 60 gallons I now was good. But found out the valve on my truck tank leaks. hopefully I am finding out what is wrong with my set up before I get a real run

I am getting dbl or more per tap from my gravity lines then I am getting from the buckets. I will not hang 100 buckets another year, just need to make the time to get more tubing up.

Sitting at 630 gallons sold.

Pulled the buckets on monday night, Gravity will get pulled today, rain or no rain,
sold 1525 gallons of sap off of 205 taps, gravity tubing average around 1 gallon per run, buckets where around 1/2. Need to get up a lot more tubing before next year don't want to do the bucket thing again.
