How hot does your stacks usally get? How far away from the walls of your shack are you?

my stack will run well over 1000 F when i got a good fire going, my mistake was i was too close to the wall, (first time building a sugarshack), im only 18" away so i wrapped the back with 2600F ceramic blacket and a piece of sheet metal seems to were work good.

900-1,000 degrees. Mine is 42" away from the wall.

exterior temps on ours reaches 700-800*. we have 20" to combustibles, but our back wall is made of rock, so not much that can catch on fire.

all the single wall pipe has been changed to double wall insulated except the bottom piece.
