I'm seeing some guys are using small squirrel cage fans. Where would find one of those?

I am using a larger bathroom exhuast fan, works great for a smaller setup. Picked it up at Home Depot for $20

Try calling a local heating and cooling contractor and ask him/her if they have any old ones laying around they'd like to sell cheap.
Check the dump. I got my first blower out of a propane hot water heater.

Are you looking to use this on your arch to force air in it?

I've got a very little, very loud, but pretty powerful fan that I blow under my fire. My firebox has a grate that I stack fire bricks onto and leave about 1" gaps in between the bricks. Then I blow the fan into the ash compartment below and 1.) I never have any ash to clean; and 2.) it greatly increases my evap rate - about 20g/hr on a 2x4 pan. I'd like something quieter and more powerful.
see pic.
thanks,
Matt

Got mine off the back of an old Ashley wood stove. It's got a 2 speed switch. I took out the auto on/off relay and added a plate across the intake to adjust the amount of air.
