Anyone use a 19/64ths. drill bit for their 5/16ths. spouts? I was told by a Leader rep. that some of the larger sugaring operations do this and get a better seal on their spouts, with less loosening of spouts during freeze thaw periods.

that's what i've been using for the last few years. i don't run vacuum, though, so i really can't comment about leaks. seems to work.

I used a 19/64 but on all my 5/16 taps this year it seemed to work good.

That's what I have been doing for several years but decided to be different this year and use a 5/16" bit to try it. Don't see much difference even with 19/64" Lapierre spouts.
