Hi Everyone, I have found an interesting way to show how we as producers show up on a map, go to the following link and add yourself and a picture and or shout out!! lets see how full we can get our map, put out the word to other producers....

I'm hoping everyone enjoys this

sometimes the little push pins take a while to come up (you may have to refresh the page)but once they are on the map you can click on them to see who is there, also on the right if you click on the name it will show you the push pin on the map..... you can zoom in close and also get a satalite picture of the area... I havn't checked how close you can go... it's only zip code area.. not your address... it's cool though

What? I'm the first pushpin in VT? Whats up with that. I did not have a picture of me with the rig or new shack. I just got her done about a week ago. Just got to put on the stovepipe....looks like more trees for this year....yaaaaHoooo! Gotta get caught up on the posts. I have not been online for a while, but got lots of time tonight...working a night shift tonight....Haven't done this in a while and so far no patients in for a tune up. Cool idea here. Nice pics also.

I'm first in WV. Hey! Is their a way to edit your entry? I went to the Admin. and it asks for a password but does not give you a chance to create one. I'm on the map at my home location, not the location of the sugar camp.

I am the administrator, let me know what you want it to be :D I'll take care of it for you !!

Hey mapleman3,
Is there anyway to edit the location once it places your marker? It's showing me about 4 miles from my actual location. Or does it just go on an area?

mapleman3
11-08-2005, 10:07 PM
it just goes to an area close to the zipcode... I wish it was better that way... but it's free so I didn't worry too much  it will at least show how wide a range on the map that we as producers make up...

We're in... on the big map we're right on top of JohnM, but if you zoom in a bit they got the location farly close... just a few miles south of the right place.

Whoops, Mapleman, I registered more than once. Can you delete the duplicates?

mapleman3
11-16-2005, 08:15 PM
you can add yourself as many times, it just keeps your original spot and adds the "shout out" to your spot, you can have as many quotes as you want.... I'll check it for you.

Bob.

Bob, your note is what you put in for your"shout out" to everyone, looks good to me , I would have to delete you and reenter your name if you don't want it there.

Looks like I'm first for Quebec. The pin got stuck in Richford, Vt, but my sugarbush is across the border in Quebec. ( Actually my sugarbush IS the border ).
Heck of a drive from Saratoga every morning to check for sap.

I'd like to post my location, but the site asks me for a plug-in in order to view it. Then it gives me about 140 different sites to download different plug-ins, and the first ten didn't even support Windows XP. With my snail dial-up it's hard to play around. And I've never had any luck downloading plug-ins in the past anyway. Anybody know anything about it? Thanks!

I think Flash is all you need, and it isn't all that big.

Hi Pete, thanks for the link! It took about ten minutes to download, so I consider that a success. Unfortunately, "Microsoft encountered a problem" when I tried to open the link to the map. Figures. I'll fight with it another time.

Eeek, doesn't sound like fun. I wonder if anyone could ever add up how many times that error has popped up in the world LOL.

You ain't a'kiddin! I know I sure get my fair share. Dug around my computer a little more just now and finally got it to tell me that it had not successfully downloaded the program to begin with. Now why didn't it tell me that in the first place? AARGH. . . . .

I just realized I wasn't on the Frappr map for Mapletraders. I can't be the only one who's not on so hopefully resurecting this old post will remind a few of you to post your location!

NY seems to be buried under everyone else. How do I raise just one state?
