View Full Version : cage tank - Lipaton AE 3723
I've got a cage tank that held "Lipaton AE 3723". I've cleaned, rinsed and soaked with bleach for 3-4 days. Smells and looks fine inside. Can I use this for sap storage??

You need to find out what Lipaton is. I would not use it for sap until you know what was in it. Plastic is porous and does absorb certain amounts of whatever comes in contact with it.

From what I gather it is a binder or filler used in paint and other such materials. I did read the msds sheet on it and well it really didnt say much on it. But did read it is impossible to remove all of it from a non returnable plastic container. It is not a (here I go again) food grade product and I would not be putting my sap in it for sure.
Thanks 3rdgen.maple. I had researched it briefly on the net and found a lot of words/terms I wasn't familiar with. Figured I'd put it out there and get a quick answer from somebody who might know. Your response was what I had figured and much appreciated.
