leave color

has anyone ever charted the sap production in relation to the fall leave color? I was thinking of that this year as i hardly have any red in my bush at all. Most of the leaves are an orange or yellow.

Just wondering.... this would have to be for you guys who have been doing it for a long time.

The orange and yellow color is from a low sugar % in the trees. We had a very hot and dry summer in western NY and ONTARIO. So sugsr % is low and will be low this spring do to the lack of rain this summer.
Tent cattpillers were fround in the southern part of western NY. So we might are a major problem in the next 2 yrs. They cycle ever 8 yrs and it's been about that long.
