our first syrup of the year!!

we had many first today, all good! our first boil of the year, first boil in the new sugar shack, and first time getting a good draw of syrup right off the pans!!

we boiled about 170 gallons today, and drew off about 1.5 gallons of syrup, with a lot left in the pans!!

had a great time, and came out with a pretty nice product!

Awesome! You made the most out of last week's run. There's another big one coming this week from Wednesday on. I'm not missing that one. When I'm not on the Trader, I'm staring out the window with a drill in my hand.

How did you end up dealing with collecting in this snow?

we definately made the most out of this run!! with last year still on our minds, we tapped for the first run. didn't want to miss any of it!

i ended up borrowing a neighbors snowmobile and making paths throughout the woods wide enough for the atv to go down.

boy was that wind howling!! i wanted to tie ropes to the young-uns so they wouldn't fly away!!
