The season's first syrup has precipitated a fluffly white substance. I have never seen anything like it in maple syrup.
Anyone have knowledge?

It's likely a sugar sand that precipitated while bottling. I got this when I first started sugaring, I think from reheating after filtering. I thought it was some weird mold since it won't settle. I looked at it under a microscope and it was crystalline.

Mold grows up in the small air pocket at the top of the bottle and the sediment hovers at the bottom:mad: If you cant filter let it settle and siphon of the top.:)
