Plumbers tape on pan fitting?

On my old 2x3 I used plumbers tape on drain spouts. My new 2x4 also come with thermometer port on both sides. Do you need to use plumbers tape on these fittings also?

I believe you do. I used some on mine.

Teflon tape will seal without over tightening the fitting. Will allow for easy removal. DO IT
