Well finally got to start working on setting up for the year yesterday. I installed a pond pump in my 120 galon holding tank. But the weight up the pump is not that much and the 1" hose does not allow the pump to rest flatly on the bottom. Any creative ideas for adding weight to this pump that will not mess with the integrity of the sap?

Steve--Can you plumb the first 3'-4' out of the tank in pvc? If you were to come off the pump with a elbow, and go verticle with a pipe, you could have a way to secure the pipe to hold it on the bottom of the tank.

the outlet is on top of pump and its a fitting that you slide the hose over then secure it with a stainless steel hose clamp. Not sure how I could make pvc adapt to that?

You could clamp a rigid pole at several locations along the side of your hose.

Put the hose inside the pvc pipe. Then ancher that or weight it down from the top.

I bought a length of pvs pipe at noon with that very thought of running the hose thru it the weight of the pipe alone might be enough otherwise will try to weight it from top like you suggest.

Use the PVC and clamp it in place to the pump with a fernco connector. Fernco's are neoprene.
