I was gonna place my tank behind my garage (faces north). I was thinking today would I be better off with the tank inside the garage instead? This way it would always be in the shade. The garage is unisulated so the temp should be the same as out. Sometimes it feels colder than outside due to no sun getting in.
I drive alot for a living and I've got way too much time for thinking. :D

Keeping the tank out of the sun is a good idea. I place mine behind the garage where their shaded most of the day. It is amazing how hot a tank gets in the sun, even if the air temperature is cold.

I put the tank in the garage. It was a no brainer. When I got home today It was alot cooler in the garage than outside. Also this way it will be more secure. I wouldn't want anyone stealing any.

The evaporator is in the sugar shack.

I have a 625 gallon Sunset milk tank sitting inside the sugarhouse about 4' from the evaporator. The building is on the north side and with a full concrete floor, it is always colder inside than outside during the day, so you would likely have the same thing as far as temperatures.
