Yup you should be full steam ahead this weekend, im almost completly tapped out on my stuff, then going to my grandfarthers lots. he has almost 2000. should be all done drilling holes by sunday. hopefully. old lines and manifolds, very brittle, and break very easy. so lots of repairs as we go. we will porbably miss a run on one of the days but what can we do. good luck make lots of syrup.

Sure hope so. 5 gallons of sap off 38 taps yesterday and I put in another 230 today. Hard to believe, but some of the holes I drilled today were wet despite my frozen toes and fingers, 15 degree air temp and that chilling breeze.

I Plan on finishing up tapping that bush tomorrow (40 more taps) and then I'll have to decide whether to move on to the next. Probably will...

The next couple of days should be real interesting. Heading from 10 degrees and a barometer reading of 1024mb this AM to 50 degrees on Friday and a low pressure system moving in.

I'm thinking this could shape up to be a pretty good run.

As a betting man, I would bet there won't be much out of this one with south to southeast winds forecasted, and the trees not thawed out yet, but I could be wrong,

400+ taps and I've got a raging trickle of sap coming in. 802Maple, are you winning this bet?

I don't know yet but I will tell you tomorrow night. I know we won't have much because unless the weather changes drastically we won't be tappng for another 2 weeks. We're going to wait for the real sugaring to step forward and the rest of you guys will have to tell me if I won or not. hahahaha

one of my small setups ran pretty good today. the others well not so much. I have about 75 taps left then all my lines are pluged in. just need to hang buckets but that wont be until march or so. the small setup is in a very good lcation it has about 60 or so taps and it ran about 45gals or so. when i did this setup there was about 2 1/2ft of snow now about 12in. the sun really hits it good. I wish there was a few hundred trees there that would be great.
hopefully it runs untill late tonite still 44 here at 5pm so you never no.

Not quite syrup yet. Bioled in about 160 gallons of sap @ 1.75% this morning. This afternoon I opened up all the collection tank valves to let the last trickles of pipelane sap run out into the snow. Could've been better, but not bad for mid-February. I'm wondering now if I should drain the flue pan to avoid freezing...
