Season Started in Tolland

Tapped some on 2/12 and 2/13. Earliest ever, but it was flowing today.
3 feet of snow in the woods. Only way out there is by snowmobile and snowshoes. Getting the sap back to the shack with snowmobiles pulling tanks on trailer sleds. Can't wait for the mud so the tanks can go back on the ATV's.

Good luck down there! I got about 1/2 to 1 gallon per tap at my one tapped sugar bush in Somers yesterday. I'm going to target my taps in Stafford when the snow goes down a bit. I think things will run well on Friday!

Still waiting for syrup from the pan. Only got about 60 gallons of sap so far, not even enough to prime the evaporator. It should start running soon.....
