The kids have been coming since February 1 (with a few snow cancellations and some quick rescheduling) but the sap has really just started running today! Following the trail left by the sapsuckers, we trudged through 2-4' of snow to tap and hang our buckets, will have 30 total by tomorrow. (Note to staff: Try to keep all pathways shoveled next year!) 30 taps by the way is enough for us educators who expect a couple hundred more visitors over the next 2 weeks. If we didn't teach we could tap more but if we didn't teach...there would be so many who would never appreciate what you all do and therefore be willing to pay for the delicious syrup you all make!
