What if any would be the suggested hieght for the raised ridge portion of a sugerhouse? I'm using a 2x6 raised flue evap and will have 18'x12' for an outside demension of the shack. My quess right now is 2' for the drop down louver. :?:

I just finished a 18x12 sugarhouse and the cupala is 4 ft wide x 6 ft long and the hinged doors are around 2 feet. The cupala roof is pitched the same as the roof (40 degrees). Hope this helps. I can post some pics if you are interested.

Jim- I'd love to see more details/CAD file. I love the timber framing inside! I think I'm a year or two off, but am trying to collect images and plans now.

Also, if anyone is interested, I have been collecting images of sugar houses from this board (and wherever else I can find them). It is in a powerpoint format. Let me know at JTCINV@YAHOO.COM if you'd like a copy sent.
