Can anyone give input, on where the recirculation pump on a RO is located? Between the press. pump & the membrane, between the sap in & concentrate out of the vessel. I'm working on fabricating my own and well I'm stumped! Looked at all manufactures for answers no luck! And what is the whole purpose of it? I guess what I'm asking is where is it in the system, and how do you pipe it up?

The rec. pumps keeps sap moving around the membranes in the pressure vessel. That helps to keep the membranes from fouling (plugging up) prematurely. They are plumbed in after the high pressure pump. Take a look at the homemade RO posts from Tuechtar and Trackerguy. There are pictures and diagrams that will help you out. Good luck.

Thanks Steve,
I had an idea that it was after the press. pumps. I'm still building ideas in my head on the design of the entire system. Heated room, tanks,# of pumps and membranes, the list goes on. We're getting a little bigger each year and a little braver.
