vacumm tank?

I have a old surge alamo pump out of a dairy farm. The tank has rotted through, do i need the tank or can i run the pump without a tank?

Its better to use the tank. If you can find an old air compressor, those tanks work pretty good.

Tuckermtn how did u plum the vac regulator in? If i take and put a t in, would it that be allright?

yes- I come off the pump, go vertical, then put a 90 elbow to go horizontal, then put a T in with a dairy vac regulator on the stub end of the T, then the other side of the T goes out to the moisture trap then over to the releaser...does that make sense?

You dont need the tank. Will it help smooth out the vacuum surges yes will it hurt the pump NO. Dont get all caught up finding a tank.

Without the tank I would think you could plumb in a 10' length of 3 or even 4" PVC to help reduce the pulsations of the pump, this would act as a chamber unless your pump is so big you need this size to carry the vacuum.
