Well we finally got the arch bricked and put the pans on today. This will be our first year boiling on a "real" evaporator and ive got a few questions on the foat box.

We bought this from a farmer and it came with a box of misc. plugs, float, box, etc... the only thing I cant figure out is how to set up this float. it doesnt fit in the float box so it may not even be the correct one for this evaporator. this is an old leader 40"x13'. an if it isnt the correct one does anyone know what I will need and possibly where I could find it? Thanks in advance

In the back of the sap pan ???

That's what I was thinking.
I remembered Leader King pans having a warming pan/float box in with the flue pan.

The valve with the float arm attaches to the top of the warming pan. The float is positioned to the side of the warming pan in the outside channel of the flue pan, usually oposite the side that the sap is entering the pan. the end of the float arm passes through the slots on the float and is secured by a cotter pin. you adust the depth by changing the position of the arm in the float.
