Heres my German Short Haired Pointer ( the bird hunting maniac) and our rescued German Sheppard who has really bad hips due to laying on a concrete floor in a dog pound for a few years. Also have a Beagle who was rescued as well. Daughter has a Dacshund that she takes everywhere but school with her. Lost my Akita over the weekend from old age and miss her alot.

My Sappin' Dog.....Named Angel. 7 yrs. old. She watches every move I make. She goes just about everywhere I do. This picture is right after we got home from Verona. We left her with friends over night. I don't think she was very happy to be left behind. But quite pleased when I returned.

A golden doodle? All i want to know is, was the poodle the male or the golden retreiver? Weird either way. Cute dog though.

Male was the golden retriever, female standard poodle. The benefit is that the breed sheds very little, but they need to be groomed.

Josephine(Joey) driving brother's school bus & lounging in "her" chair. She was abandoned when she was about 4 weeks old, we saw her at the local shelter & had to bring her home. The most hyper dog I have ever seen, but also one of the most loveable & loyal.

We have an old lab that lays with her head on the floor just like yours in the picture. Our dog (12 years) looks very much like her also. I agree Labs are the best!

Our dog and best friend "Lincoln"passed away on Monday. He was an 11 1/2 year old Lab/Pitbull mix. He spent 11 1/2 years with a ball in his mouth or chasing one. He was perfectly healthy Monday morning and early afternoon but seemed to get sick in the later day. He ended up gasping for air with single large gasps and by the time we decided to get him to the vet it was too late. He died on my wifes lap on the way to the animal hospital. We don't know if something bit or stung him and he was having a reaction or if it was a stroke or heart attack or something else. I guess we will never know. REST IN PEACE MY DEAR FRIEND!:(

Very very sorry to hear Zman. Just went through this great loss a few months ago. Not a minute goes by that something does not make me think of mine. Even with 4 other dogs at our side all the time its just not the same and never will be. Im sure you gave him a good life and pass this poem along to your wife. It is not written by me by any means but its a great one.

The following poem is inspired by the Norse Legend
By the edge of a woods, at the foot of a hill,
Is a lush, green meadow where time stands still.
Where the friends of man and woman do run,
When their time on earth is over and done.
For here, between this world and the next,
Is a place where each beloved creature finds rest.
On this golden land, they wait and they play,
Till the Rainbow Bridge they cross over one day.
No more do they suffer, in pain or in sadness,
For here they are whole, their lives filled with gladness.
Their limbs are restored, their health renewed,
Their bodies have healed, with strength imbued.
They romp through the grass, without even a care,
Until one day they start, and sniff at the air.
All ears prick forward, eyes dart front and back,
Then all of a sudden, one breaks from the pack.
For just at that instant, their eyes have met;
Together again, both person and pet.
So they run to each other, these friends from long past,
The time of their parting is over at last.
The sadness they felt while they were apart,
Has turned into joy once more in each heart.
They embrace with a love that will last forever,
And then, side-by-side, they cross over… together.

Little guy wandered out of the woods covered in mud during the middle or a rainstorm at my grandpa's house about 5 years ago. I didn't really like little dogs and thought they were all hyperactive and yappy, not Butters though, calm and quiet.

And yes he is named after the South Park character, stupid but sweet.

You really don't want to come onto our bush property! Two of them weigh well over 100lbs, and the chocolate lab mix is about 95lbs, but he will just follow you home. The Boerboels or African Mastiffs are litter mates (2 years old) and are very intimidating. Living in the middle of nowhere my wife wanted dogs which would basically scare the **** out anybody who came onto the property. They are actually quite friendly with people as long as we provide them with commands. They love to run throught the sugar bush with me, and I feed them a little sap on occasion.
