It was quite the light show last night, plus on top of that we received 8 inches of snow! Left Swanton at 4:30pm yesterday and it total white-out on interstate 89. 35-45mph all they way back to St.Johnsbury. Picked up the BGH Double Releaser and got it to the sugarhouse safely though.

well my bro-inlaw had a casualty of the lightning, his big Belgian horse got struck, sad day, he used to use it to gather sap:cry:

That sucks about the workhorse, they tend to be like a family member to those who own them.

Saturday afternoon while tapping trees a lighting storm rolled in, rained some but mostly got
hail about twice the size of sleet, bounced right off, I told the landowner who was helping me tap his trees that we would make national news if we got struck by lighting while tapping trees for syrup season. The weird thing was that the trees that I drilled during the storm was not running, but soon as the thunder and lighting quit the next trees that I opened was running.

I thought at first the cops were at my sugar house, but imediatly after the flash the thunder started rolling ... for about a minute... the combination almost made me have to change my drawrs!
