Where do you go for your local weather forcast? Who do you find to be the most accurate? I watch the National Weather Service most of the time.

Dan --- We had a Winter Blizzard yesterday morning and I'm not complaining as we didn't loose our electric power. But - just about every forecast I came accross said it was supposed to go South of us and we would get about 5 inches of snow tops. As You get older - You have a built in weather forecaster of sorts - aches and pains. The wife and I were both having more than our share of aches and pains prior to the Blizzard and we knew it was gonna nail us --- and it did. Now I know this is probably not what You had in mind -- but - it works for us -- Mike

I'm a junkie. I have accuweather and weather bug on my phone. Accuweather usually forecasts colder, but I love their radar when I'm haying. Online I use NOAA.gov, good but they won't do precip totals more than 2 days out. Weather.com and [URL="http://www.wunderground.com/"] weather underground

That is where I go too. weather.gov ( national weather service) seems how all of the rest of the weather stations and sites rely on them for information. I go to accuweather for the long range, though it is always wrong.

I, too, am a weather junkie. I always go to weather.gov. I like it because it's always just the straight talk. They don't feel the need to tell you how to dress or whether to grab an umbrella or not. I also like they have historical data so you can see the past 3 days hour-by-hour or they have daily weather data (high, low, precip, wind, etc.) back to 2006.

Also they have 6-10 day and 8-14 day outlooks which can give a general picture of upcoming weather. For instance, here in Ohio there's a 80% chance of below-normal temps so I can pretty much not worry about getting taps out. I have a question that I have never received an answer for. I live in Michigan and granted we are just about surrounded by the Great Lakes. But - We have Canada wrapped about half way around our state and the weather on the Canadian side does visit Michigan -- Yet the weather maps blot out Canada like it dosen't exist. Why is that? I don't care about the weather in Hawaii - but -- I would like to know what is going on in Ontario, Canada.... thanks ---- Mike

Weather junkie? That is funny Dave because I have bookmarked on my computer weather.gov, accuweather, intellicast, the weather channel, John Dee, and weather bug. I just go down the list, everyday, two maybe three times a day. Ultimately, weather.gov is by far the most accurate. Not 100%, but they nail it more times than not.

I only use Weatherunderground.com, Type in zip code for your area, and all the local weather stations near your zip are reporting on the bottom of that page, you can check the temp for last night at 3 am, works for me because I don't live near my camp, one of the stations that reports on mine is located about 5 mile from my sugarbush, I know the temperture in my woods and can be sixty miles away. If you are a weather nut, this is simply a must. It's a forum set up similar to the Trader. It used to be known as Eastern Weather.com, but changed over recently to Americanwx.

Ofcourse, if it was up to most on that site, we would not tap until July. For the most part, they love crazy cold, snow, extreme weather.

Hey Thanks - Got a reply today from Viking HB and hooked me up to a Canadian Government Weather Site and has everything I was looking for -- Appreciate the help - Now in the Winter I can finally get an idea what is coming at us from the NorthWest or North -----Mike
