Nicely done video showing a timber frame sugar shack being built in a remote location (no cranes or heavy equipment).

Thanks for sharing the video. I would have been tempted to use the tractor with front end loader or the four wheeler to replace the hand winch. Call me lazy!!! Beautiful sugar shack though.

2010 new 13x15 shack
18x48 D&G evap
50 buckets
2011 80 buckets

Notice you never saw the owner. My guess is he will ahve the finish crew in there to have everything complete, then the new 3x8 or bigger shiny new evap brought in and setup, maybe even an RO and a group of guys to run the tubing for him. He may watch one batch boil before its all over....But I am not bitter!

Sounds like you might be the tiniest bit bitter. Be thankful you live in the beautiful Adirondacks. Lots of people in other parts of the world would love to trade places with us!! On watching the video a second time I saw them lift a beam up to the second floor with the tractor so they didn't totally ignore all the technology around them.
