Good morning all:

I am looking into expanding and my neighbour has a maple bush that is very suitable for my needs. I want to offer fair market value to rent the land (tress) for sap. Does anyone have an idea what to pay for taps? I will have to dust off the buckets as I am all pipeline, about 300 or so. If this goes well I will see if he will let me string pipeline.

Thanks for any information

Darrell

I know from what i've read they usually give .50 cents a tap or one gallon of syrup for every 80 taps which works out to the same.. one fellow trader said he was gonna start paying .75 cents a tap this year hope this help cpmaple

I signed my first lease this year and we agreed on 0.75 per tap.

If I were leasing taps for bucket system, I would offer .35 -.50 a hole, with agreement that if you were able to put in tubing with vacuum, the lease price would go up from there. If 'n it were me, I would not pay any more than .50 per tap for a gravity system, they just don't pay back as quick. A vacuum system tap lease rate runs between .75 and 1.00 a hole.
