View Full Version : recirculation pump
I was wondering do all r/o's have a recirculation pump them or is it just the larger machines that do. Do you need a recirculation pump on a small ro?

I have a Lapierre jr. and it does not have a recirculation pump on it. It does have a pipe that connects back from the second mebrane back to the first. This unit is deigned to remove 50% of the water in the first pass. I have run more than one pass but keep the 50/50 rule and have not had any problem with the membranes clogging up. It will process 200 gallons per hour, 100 gallons of concentrate sap / 100 gallons of peremate.

I overheard Brad Gillian of Leader at this years V.V.S conference tell someone that "units with a four inch membrane don't have a recirc. pump. The membranes that are bigger than the 4 inchers need the pump". I don't know if we was talking about the Leader/Springtech units or all RO's in general.
