It is a small piston type vac pump.
Here is a pic of the one that I got. The name plate actually says Surge RV model BB2

I picked mine up at an auction for about $55. I later found that the bottom of the tank was rusted out but it took just welding a small patch over the hole and it is good to go.
It is a real nice vac pump and if you have a reallly tight tubing system I don't see why it shouldn't do at least 200 maybe 300 taps. Someone else may be able to tell you exactly how many the BB2 will handle.
What type of releaser are going to use. I found that a Bender milk receiver uses a lot of vac to run, it is always leaking alittle. I have maybe 2500' of mainline and 2 Benders and it is just alittle too much for the BB2. It will run right around 16" of vac. I think if I had an actual sap releaser I could easily do better than that. I beleive they don't leak like the Benders.

You should be fine with that many taps. I think Red Maples on here is running the same pump and a Lapierre hobby releaser. I think he is right around the same number of taps as you too!!!
