I've been making a syrup pan today and have a few questions. I've put two dividers in in to give me three channels down through it. But I was unable to TIG the bottom of the dividers completly. DOes it really make much of a difference if a small amount leaks under the divider? Does a drop flue plan need the dividers also? Does it really make a lot of difference?

I wouldnt worry to much about it they will sugar over and seal on there own. Most flue pan have a single divider in the middle. If you are making a flue pan just make sure your sides are tall and when I say tall 12 inches or more. Sap jumps right out of the pan and high sides are a must.

Afretired Tall is good....Flat pans wont boil as hard a Flue type pans so dont start ripping it apart quite yet. Alot of small tacs along the dividers is better than long welds that warp open under heat. Mixing isnt a problem as long as your drawing of finished syrup constantly.Enjoy the learning experiance:)
